Carol Beckett joined the Angus Productions Inc. (API) staff in
December 1997, bringing with her more than 15 years of publishing/production experience.
At API, Beckett's main role as production assistant is to be the liaison between
API and the printer of the Angus Journal. She double checks paging and color
positioning and coordinates the in-house proofing of all pages plus the shipping
of disks to the printer. She fields all technical questions that the printer or
the API artists have concerning the printing of the publications.
Beckett also processes requests from customers for materials (ads, logos, artwork)
that have appeared in the Angus Journal or the Angus Beef Bulletin
to be sent to other publications around the country.
Beckett attended Missouri Western State College on a speech communications scholarship.
It was during this time she took her first job in the publishing business and "fell
in love" with it. Through the years she has worked for newspapers and in-house graphics
departments, in various production capacities. She also attended the Joe Herndon
Vocational Technical school as an adult student for printing/graphics in 1989-90.
While working for API she attended an intensive training program: Partners in Printing
Excellence (PIPE).
Beckett is the mother of two school-age children, Ian and Julia.
