Kathrin Breytenbach joined the Angus Productions Inc. (API) staff on a part-time basis in April 1997. She started working full time as digital imaging specialist in December 1997. On a day-to-day basis, Breytenbach creates digital files for every photo; digitally retouches photographs to remove mud, manure, straw, objects and backgrounds; and does specialty work, such as converting black-and-white images to color and rebuilding photo backgrounds. Breytenbach checks all scans provided by advertisers and prepares them for the computer-to-plate process or web posting.

Breytenbach holds a bachelor of science degree in commercial art from Missouri Western State College (MWSC), where she graduated at the top of the art department in 1996. Her internship was at the Albrecht-Kemper Museum of Art, St. Joseph, Mo.
