She worked six years with the Polled Hereford and then the American Hereford Association, where she handled magazine circulation and photo digital scanning responsibilities. Bomar went on to work five years with the American Maine-Anjou Association as an assistant editor of the Maine-Anjou Voice and as association Director of Youth Activities/Special Events/Voice coordinator. Following that she worked at the American Chianina Association ACA Journal as editor with the combined responsibilities of advertising sales and ad and editorial design and layout.

Bomar lives in Dearborn, Mo., with her husband, Gary, son Alex and daughter Katy.
