Angus Productions Inc. Topic Sites
Angus Productions Inc. (API) topic sites are intended to provide a one-stop resource
for cattlemen or other industry representatives wanting more information about pertinent
topics affecting the livelihood of the American cattle producer. API staff have
created the following regularly updated Web sites to further the understanding and
development of international issues, beef cow efficiency, body condition scoring,
country-of-origin labeling and drought conditions.
Aim High
Beef producers who want to set higher quality and profit goals have a new source
of information. The “Aim High” web site, a joint project of API and
Certified Angus Beef LLC (CAB), brings together information on how to optimize genetics,
management, feeding and marketing to help capture added value, along with who to
contact for assistance. One of the site’s unique features is that it compiles
a host of stories featuring producers who have been there, done that and continue
to make it work on their operations.
Angus International
This Web site is intended to serve as a platform for global information sharing
within the Angus family worldwide. In an industry that hinges on world animal health
issues and global cattle and beef trade, keeping up to date on relevant international
issues is a must. This site provides links to international Angus associations,
marketing groups abroad, media coverage and information about Angus herds and events
in other countries.
Beef Cow Efficiency
Beef cow efficiency is perhaps the greatest single factor affecting your profitability
as a beef producer. This site is intended to serve as a gateway to information you
might find useful in improving the efficiency of your ranch.
Body Condition Scoring
This site serves as a leading resource for cattle producers interested in using
body condition scores (BCS) to improve their herds nutrition and efficiency.
The site explains the importance of body condition scores and how to use the numeric
scoring system, and teaches cattlemen to evaluate cows in the field to estimate
body energy reserves. Detailed photographs, additional resources and video clips
are provided.
Country-of-Origin
Labeling
This site offers information about the controversial issue of country-of-origin
labeling often referred to as COOL or COL. Links to other country-of-origin labeling
resources, updated news information and a series of published articles pertaining
to the labeling law are provided.
Dealing With Drought
This site provides a resource for producers across the country who are affected
by drought. This comprehensive site was developed as a service to breeders to provide
a one-stop site for information on how to deal with drought.
